SUBJECT: Bill HB1246 for Legalizing Marijuana Please read and testify against this bill.
There is no rational reason to have this bill, legislators are looking at the tax benefit but the cost to our society in crime, economics and personal cost to our people will be devestating.
Some persons in favor of the bill state for medicinal purposes, but there is already a law and regulations in Hawaii for medical usage, this bill HB1246 is not necessary Happy Birthday. May God Bless you. 1246 marijuana bill going thru the Capitol will have devestating effects upon Hawaii if it passes, it provides full legalization of marijuana. Link to bill is here: https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/sessions/session2025/bills/HB1246_.htm
Besides the health and moral bad effects of the legalization, the bill contains a provision that a person can go work high and the employer has to accept it. The bill itself looks like they are going through alot of legal hoops to make it look legit but it is horrible, it will setup irreversible negative impacts to our islands, communities, children and our economy. One of the major concerns, is that the cartels are just waiting for marijuana to be legal in Hawaii for them to come into the State to setup shop. This law sill have devestating long term effects on Hawaii.
What the bill is not addressing is the economic cost to the society by increased medical intervention, depression in the users, emotional complications, deaths and destroyed lives by its usage.
